The Certified Nursing Assistant program will teach the candidate to care for patients in Hospitals, Skilled Nursing, Rehabilitation and Nursing Home facilities. She/he will also be able to work with patients one to one at Home Care, Home Health and Hospice Agencies. The six week program will prepare her/him to handle complete patient assistance as well as all the clinical work necessary for the state certification program.
Job duties and work related skills involve bookwork testing and clinical education.
Some of the on the job tasks that a CNA must complete include:
- Ambulatory care
- Draping patients
- Changing linens
- Preparing beds
- Running errands
- Performing light housekeeping
- Feeding assistance
- Recording fluid input and output,
- Taking patient vitals
- Stocking supplies
- Emptying catheter bags, etc…..
